Feedback from a spokesman for Iran’s overseas ministry:
- US-Iran talks are over “for now”
- A reporter from State TV says not sure when talks may restart
Maintain a watch out for Iran headlines. Oil is present almost flat, down 13 cents to $63.16. I would estimate there’s at least at $3 gepolitical premium in oil in the intervening time.
Here’s a message from Iran’s overseas minister:
Very severe talks mediating between Iran and the US in Muscat right this moment. It was helpful to make clear each Iranian and American pondering and determine areas for potential progress. We goal to reconvene in the end, with the outcomes to be thought-about rigorously in Tehran and Washington.
So it seems like they’ve purchased a while, on the very least.
In a separate interview, he mentioned they agreed to proceed talks, however no choice but on when/the place. Oil is down 25-cents, which appears small on some de-escalation. I assume we should wait and see what Trump says.
Replace: The WSJ reviews that Iran refuses to finish nuclear enrichment in talks.
