A reported “robust scent” at a key air visitors management middle disrupted flights Friday night at main airports throughout the Washington, D.C., area for the second time in two weeks.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) briefly halted flights at Ronald Reagan Washington Nationwide Airport (DCA), Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport (IAD), Baltimore/Washington Worldwide Airport (BWI), Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport (CHO) and Richmond Worldwide Airport (RIC), the company instructed FOX Enterprise in an electronic mail.
The FAA stated the disruptions have been because of a “robust scent” on the Potomac Terminal Radar Strategy Management (TRACON) middle, which manages airspace within the area.
